About Mahmutlar
Mahmutlar has more than 25.000 permanent inhabitants and that number increases vastly during the summer period. The infra-structure is based on international standards – pipes and electrical systems, as well as the sewer-system. In 2004/2005 the shops on Barbaros Blvd. started to slowly change from the traditional Turkish family-owned shops to a adapt a more western standard. Multiple shopping malls exist in Mahmutlar today and many shops on the main street are from large chains. However, if you prefer the Turkish traditional shops – you will find what you are looking for on Atatürk street. Either at the Saturday market in the center – or the Tuesday market in the eastern end of Mahmutlar.
In the past people had to go to Alanya for certain things (shopping, bank, paying bills etc.). Today Mahmutlar has everything. From the differently sized Migro grocery stores, to a ‘we sell a little of literally anything’ kind of shop like Sali Pazar 82, to pharmacies, brokers, furniture shops, many vet and pet stores, and so on. A massive shopping mall has been built next to the Saturday market, and a smaller one on the Atatürk street, approximately halfway through Mahmutlar.
Mahmutlar has become very varied and supplies anything for everyone. Both your item and entertainment needs can be meet inside Mahmutlar. Nowadays, also in Mahmutlar, you see the many, many electric scooters hoovering around bringing ordered items, groceries, and dinner to people’s houses. The many restaurants, beach bars, Hammams, coffee places, snack bars, jet ski rides, car rentals, and so on provide all the entertainment you’ll ever need.
Add online shopping to this all and you will never want to leave again!
Life is good in Mahmutlar!
